Privacy Policy
Your fasting history is yours.
This policy covers the Not Yet iPhone app, its Apple Watch companion, and this website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Last updated 5 August 2026
The short version. Not Yet has no account and no server holding your data. Your fasts, your settings and your weight readings stay on your devices. If you switch on iCloud backup, copies go to your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read. The app makes one kind of network request — downloading its message catalogue from this website — and it sends nothing about you when it does. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code in the app at all.
Who we are
Not Yet is made by Patryk Kaczmarkiewicz, an independent developer. There is no company and no team behind it. This policy says “we” and “us” for readability, and “the app” means Not Yet for iPhone together with its Apple Watch companion, its widgets, and its Siri shortcuts.
What stays on your device
Everything the app records is written to storage on your iPhone or Apple Watch. That includes:
- Every fast you have recorded — start time, end time, and the plan it was measured against
- Your settings: chosen plan, personality, appearance, notification and Live Activity preferences, and which Summary cards you have shown or hidden
- Any weight readings the app has read from Apple Health, if you connected it
- The figures shown on the Summary tab, which are calculated on your device from the above and are not stored anywhere else
None of this is transmitted to us. Deleting the app removes it from the device. Your fasting history is also included in an encrypted iPhone backup if you make one through Apple, in the same way as any other app’s data.
iCloud backup, if you turn it on
iCloud backup is off by default. Copying health-adjacent data off a device is a decision to make rather than one to inherit, so nothing goes to iCloud until you switch it on in Settings › Backup.
When it is on, the app writes an archive of your fasts and settings to the private database of your iCloud account, in a container Apple provides to us. Private databases are exactly that: we have no key, no console access to their contents, and no technical means of reading them. We cannot tell you what is in your backup, and we could not hand it to anyone else if we were asked to.
This is backup, not sync — each device keeps its own archives, and restoring replaces your history rather than merging it. Older archives are pruned automatically so the list does not grow without limit. You can delete any backup, or all of them, from the same screen, and turning the feature off stops any further uploads. Apple’s handling of iCloud is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Apple Health
If you allow it, the app reads one thing from Apple Health: your body weight. It is used to plot weight beside your fasting hours on the Summary tab, on your device. The app never writes to Health, and reads nothing else — not steps, not heart rate, not sleep, not workouts.
Health data is never transmitted to us and is never used for advertising or shared with anyone. You can withdraw access at any time in iOS Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices, or by turning the connection off in the app.
Notifications, Live Activities and widgets
All notifications are scheduled locally by your iPhone. There is no push server, so there is nothing for us to send and no device token for us to hold. Live Activities, Lock Screen widgets, Home Screen widgets and watch complications are drawn on your device from data already on it.
Apple Watch
The iPhone app and the watch app exchange your current fast and your settings directly between your own two devices, using the connection Apple provides for that purpose. This traffic does not pass through us.
Siri and Shortcuts
Starting, ending or asking about a fast by voice is handled through Apple’s App Intents. We receive nothing. What Siri does with the words you speak is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
What the app downloads
The app periodically fetches its message catalogue — the lines the timer says to you — from notyetfasting.com. It is an ordinary web request for a file. It carries no account, no identifier, no device name and nothing about your fasting; the app does not attach any information about you to it, because there is none to attach.
Like any web request, it reaches our host with the IP address it came from and the standard headers a network request carries. Our host, Netlify, keeps short-lived server logs of that. We do not use those logs to build any profile of a person, and we cannot connect them to anything in your app, because the request contains nothing that would let us.
This website
The site is hosted by Netlify. It sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, embeds no trackers, and loads nothing from third-party servers — the styles and images all come from this domain. Netlify keeps standard server logs, as above.
When you contact us
If you write to us through the support form, we receive what you typed: your name, your email address, the topic you chose, the app version if you gave one, and your message. Submissions are handled and stored by Netlify Forms and forwarded to us.
We use that only to answer you. It is not added to any mailing list, and it is not passed to anyone else. We keep messages while they are useful for support history and delete them when they are not. Please do not send us anything sensitive that we do not need in order to help.
What we never do
- No account, no sign-up, no email address required to use the app
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and no third-party code in the app at all
- No advertising, ad identifiers, or profiling
- We do not sell, rent or share your data — there is nothing on our side to sell
- No tracking across other apps or websites, so the app never asks for permission to
Children
Not Yet is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Intermittent fasting is not appropriate for children, and the app is intended for adults.
Your control over your data
Because your data sits on your device rather than on our servers, you do not need to ask us for any of it:
- Export — Settings › Backup writes an archive file you can keep anywhere
- Delete — Settings can delete all fasting history, and deleting the app removes the rest
- Delete backups — any iCloud backup, or all of them, from Settings › Backup
- Revoke Health access — in iOS Settings › Health, or in the app
- Contact records — if you have written to us and want that message deleted, ask and we will delete it
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change ever meant the app collected something it does not collect today, that would be said plainly here rather than folded into a paragraph, and the app would ask before it started.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about your data, go through the support form. That is the only contact channel we run, and it reaches us directly.
